well I keep trying to be more and more patient applying as even and thin coats as possibly and letting it dry.. but still I always have a run issue it's like I can't ever spray it light enough..

this is after about 3 passes with the airbrush eclipse siphon feed running 35psi

Is my pressure too much? I've tried playing around with it but it doesn't seem to do much.

could my paint be too thick or thin?

I have paint 2 parts thinner to 1 part paint and it's a milky texture but could it be off a little bit?

The best advice I can give you is to thin the paint to the right consistency and practice on plastic spoons before you try it on a model. The pressure for enamels is perfect at around 30-35, and Donn Yost says 32 is perfect.

what type/brand of paint are you spraying ? , if it's acrylics ,, too much thinning will water it down and it will run very easily.

also the acrylics like to dry up a little between coats.

it all depends on airbrush /pressure /paint/thinner ...

the siphon feed eclipse has a 0.5 needle so you shouldn't have to thin the paint down quite that much..if at all

maybe that's my issue is I'm over thinning. Not sure but I followed cranky's advice but maybe that's what he is mixing for his gravity feed brushes.

it's just craft acrylic.. I know people have a hate/love opinion of them but they are a lot like other acrylics just not thinned.

apple barrel.

yeah the acrylics do not like to be overthinned much, the apple barrel I've tried, I did not have very good luck with them .

The pigment is so large it takes a lot of thinning to spray them well , problem is the pigment separates and sinks if thinned too much.

I only tried some of the metallics so maybe the regular colors thin and spray better.

with the 0.5 needle you can get away with a whole lot less thinning.

keep playing with it,,, there is no one magic bullet thinning ratio that works for everything.

I am sure no expert , just a beginner but if that says on your post 2 parts thinner 1 part paint Donn Yost would say no way .

Donn told me 2 parts testors enamel paint 1 part lacquer thinner and practice . He also

told me its not Rocket Science that remains to be seen .

yeah I think I got the ratio backwards.. last I did it I did (close to) 2 parts paint (walmart acrylic) and 1 part windex and it worked really nice

just picked up a triple action kit for it today that I can't wait to play with.. should make painting bodies easier for me so I don't get that itchy finger and go WOT (wide open trigger)
