Dirkpitt289 Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 This is great. I would think that if you wanted to you could keep it as is with the cardboard. The cardboard looks to be heaver duty kind and should last a while. Just ducktape the seems. Of course mounting the motor could be an issue
Dr. Cranky Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Looks good. I usually mist some water all around the general area before I shoot the paint. It helps keep everything clean and particle free.
sportandmiah Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 Finally able to make some progress today. I used my next door neighbors table saw to slice and dice 1/4" MDF. I've had all the pieces traced out and cut and built today. I need to cut holes in the back for the motors.
jayhkr Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Where's the update to this. You can't leave us hanging! LOL
sportandmiah Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Sorry it took me so long...been busy. Here's. Couple pics....uses a standard 10x20 furnace filter. I used both motors...works pretty good...although I might redesign it...the airflow isn't as strong as I would like.
jayhkr Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 If you want better airflow then I would say your issue lies in your ducting at the back. That tape isn't helping much IMO. I know I've seen them at home improvement stores, but you may want to look into an actual "Y" splitter instead of using that flexible hose. I could be wrong but to me it just makes sense with air friction. It looks really good though! Nicely done. I've been looking on Ebay and Craigslist for blower fans. Cheapest I've found is $60 so I need to keep looking. Don't really want to spend more than $25-30 on it since materials will run me about the same. I was looking at this booth as a possibility. But that's a much later project for me. Again, well done!
