Haubenschild Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Everything is great , the interior detailing is really sharp !
Wagoneer81 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Clive would be proud of this build Yeah! When I first saw the name of this thread, I immediately had visions of a classic Mustang being stretched to its absolute mechanical limits by Dirk (With a frightened passenger or two, usually of the beautiful and female persuasion...) being chased up a winding mountain road by a trio of Mercedes-Benzs' luxury SUV's full of desperate, automatic-weapon wielding terrorists with no regard for human life... I'm liking this build. I will gladly watch it through to completion... Edited January 3, 2012 by Wagoneer81
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 Getting back to my 68 KR-8. The body has been wet sanded and now its time to do some trim work. With some Bare Metal Foil (Brushed Aluminum), a ruler, Q-tip and toothpick I set to work. Except for some bumper work on my 65 2+2 I've yet to really get into using this stuff. Every little scrap can get used
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 Thanks guys. That means a lot coming from this group of builders
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 Foiling is all done. Decaling started Assembled the wheels and weathered. Decals completed, gloss cote applied and some weathering was done to highlight the doors and trunk areas.
Haubenschild Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 (edited) Nice job on the paint and decals , I cant wait to see this finished! Edited January 23, 2012 by Haubenschild
Bart68 Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Nice work, the details are really going to show when your done.
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Here we go down the home stretch. While the results don't bear out the time and effort put into it I'm still relativity happy. Time to move onto the next plastic debauchery. I couldn't resist and put in some seat belts Body attached to the chassis
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 Well here she is after many months on the bench. There were a feew issues that I noticed after looking at these photos and made the corrections.
retroguy Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) The pics that I checked, the rear wheels look to be Chrome reverse maybe deep dish to... I think I missed where you put the battery... Edited February 17, 2012 by retroguy
Dirkpitt289 Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 The pics that I checked, the rear wheels look to be Chrome reverse maybe deep dish to... I think I missed where you put the battery... Depends on what picture you look at. I would guess they used whatever they had on hand at any given time. The battery was relocated to the trunk on the 1:1 cars just like with the Boss 429's
62rebel Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 he put the battery in the trunk; the rear wheels are plain painted steel on these cars. i'm building the same kit but using the Bullitt parts on mine.
