I was going to wait till I got a new camara to post anything this year, but I'm not sure when that will be. So I thought I would so this anyway. Its about 80% done. post-3829-0-64601200-1324927965_thumb.jp All but a little more engine details and finish the steering. I didnt like the plastic tires that it came with so I found some in the parts bin for the rear and I wasnt happy with the front wheels either. After asking around for other option ( great responces were given out) I found I still had an old testors t bucket kit with a good set of wires and rubber tires. The finish is not the "Gold" that was shown in the book that came with the kit, but I liked the looks of this better on it anyway. Its a GM rattle can color. It really comes to life with a good black washing I also didnt really agree with the purple engine or seat cover, so I went with a deep red instead. It plays off the red plug wires and seat belts I'm building for it. Once I get a better camara I'll get some better pics of the inside and out. Thanks for looking

I'm kinda digging the "movie car" build, Its real easy to not get caught up in to much thinking. It's given me plenty of practice on good building tech, and a little scratch building, but not to much to get tired of it and struggle to see the end of the road.

Im not going to build a radiator because I plan on mounting the body post-3829-0-04289900-1326747957_thumb.jp

I'm in the middle of making a little harness even though I've never seen the car with one post-3829-0-84958700-1326747971_thumb.jp

I really like the looks of this kit with a little black wash on this color. post-3829-0-22005000-1326747994_thumb.jp

So far I'm not a big fan of the way the rear end/ trans are one unit and the way the axle tubes go together. The front end looks very weak, but I'm sure most rails like this are. I'm starting to wish I would have cut open the canopy and engine bay portions of the casket also.

I have this coming, and I will be watching this closely. I love all the old kits coming back out. Let me know if you run into any problems mate :)

The bigest so far is the rear axle is a tad bit to long. and I damaged one of the wheels a little getting the axle into them and trying to close the gap between all the parts. Now that its done, I wish I would have narrowed the whole assembly down a little. And I really dont like the way the carb scoops went together, but that might just be my skill showing vs.the kit. But some alignment pins would have been nice.

If either of you are interested in the Munster coach that came with this one, I'd trade it off if you dont have one. I dont know if I'm real excited to build it. I got them together in a tin kit as part of an ebay lot.

Small update :

I had a chance to get a little done on this thing finaly. Just about there, just need to finish the belt buckles and I can mount the body to the frame. post-3829-0-14559000-1329767421_thumb.jp I had the front and rear lamps done yesterday, I air brushed a light coat of transparent sungold from auto air, and gave them a nice polished brass/gold color over the chrome plating. But they just didnt flow with the rest of the car and all the chrome. So I stripped them down and will be paiting them to match the casket color.

Nother small update, I got a little time to make the seat belt hardware, post-3829-0-60025700-1330359881_thumb.jp I know they are not true to scale. but it was fun and I think its adds to the empy office.

Thanks guys !!

I got the lamps painted and mounted, I like them a lot more this way, then chrome plated or gold. Seem to blend in better, not so bulky.

I'm thinking about painting this piece from "the mummy" to look like an old cobble stone road, little display base for it.
