Scottnkat Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I've tried looking for an answer to this question, but could not find one. I am just getting ready to try pouring resin for the first time and I had a question for anyone that may know. If you pour resin into a mold and there's not enough resin to complete the mold, can you just mix up some more resin and pour it in on top of the stuff you just did a moment ago? Will the two "pours" sort of meld into one the way it should be? Or will they remain as two separate parts that fit together, but just aren't one piece?
Erik Smith Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) They will be one piece. I tried to find the link to a tutorial I read. It shows how you can actually pour a small amount of resin into a section of a two part mold that isn't venting correctly (catches an air bubble when poured). You pour a small amount into the "trouble" spot, let that cure a bit, then continue with the rest of the pour. I have no first hand experience with this technique, so don't say "but Erik told me..."
