nascar moldel builders from late 60s

A while back I was thumbing through a late 60s STOCKCAR RACING Magazine (could have been Circle Track maybe Hot Rod or Car Craft) and there was an artical about 2 young men who used to build nascar models and sell them out side of the race tracks.Does anyone know if they are on any of the forums and still building models. This would have been before all the diecast vender trailers.

Just wondering if they were stiil around
