Aside from trying to round up work for my business, my music is my biggest distraction.  I've played bass for 30 years, and been fortunate enough to play with some pretty well known musicians.

For you gearheads out there, I have 1600 watts of "headroom".

Makes my 780 watts seem like a starter set!Eleven11_4612_OutofBounds72-vi.jpg?1337179810

We gotta get together sometime!

That'd be awesome! But don't know if my back will hold out carrying gear all the way to Indiana! B)

As long as you have the "ooomph" for where you're at, it's all relative, as long as you have "THAT" tone you're looking for! 99% of the time I am playing through a PA as well, so I don't have to set my own volume louder than what I can hear (although my hearing is toast from 15 years working near 155-mil howitzers and tanks!). Only time I have ever even "semi" cranked my gear was at a good friends birthday party, he has an awesome barn that he built a stage, bar, and dance floor in for his band and his musician friends...on a dare I bumped the volume to 8 and picked an "E"...shook the place so hard it literally cleared 50 years of dust off the rafters (not anticipated or cool  ) and made his disco ball fall off the ceiling

after everyone gasped, they cheered and busted up laughing.

I have an active Ibanez BTB 5 string that I can make nails back out of the walls with that little rig. G-K 1001RB & a 4X10" G-K SBX cabinet.

To keep things on track, I too can blame my Bass as a distraction. I have a small Fender Sidekick practice amp under the end table in my living room and there's always a Bass on the stand plugged in (unless it's got active electronics...). There's been night I sit down, recline with the Bass, and I can stay there playing & watching TV all night. With my feet up...
