REAR END RE-POSITIONED IN THE REAR!!!

I attached the Quick-Change Rear End on the bottom of the Turtle Deck.

Then I fit the big Slicks in Place, marked the areas to be cut and then cut them out.

Excellent progress. I love how you keep a few pots on the stove, Ira. You are always cooking up some great eye candy for the rest of us. THANK YOU, chap.

Ira, you're having altogether too much fun.

Don't know whether to thank you for the inspiration or cuss at ya for planting another brain fart in my already over cluttered head.

Would you mind if I played in your sand box for a bit and gave one of my own zany creations a try?

That would be Great Don!

Building this kind of model is a nice break from serious building projects. Heck you dont even have to measure everything all the time...

Would love to see photos of what you come up with! :D

Any pictures of that yet? I am assuming you will start another thread for it. I've been wanting to build one of these, so I will be watching.

Good Morning Dr.!

I will be posting photos of the Ranchero Deals Wheels Truck on March 1, 2012 as an intro to the start of my CAR-TOONS CONTEST over at Coffin Corner.

I will post them there & here at the same time! :D

Way cool, I don't believe I've ever seen anything you've built that I didn't like. I don't view your models as "models"....actually they are art.

Sure, you don't have to fuss about scale or mechanical correctness.........but the end result is pure eye candy.

I especially like the built in motion, even though it is a static model it appears as if someone just hit the loud pedal.

Thanks for the inspiration Ira....I'll call mine "Screaming Yellow Zonker".

MORE MODIFIED ROADSTER BODY WORK!!!

I started making a File Card Template for the Cockpit Cover for DRAG MONSTER....

DSCN4091D.jpg

This is the first Cover Template. I will probably make a better one before I transfer the shape to sheet plastic

GOT IT COVERED!!!

The cardboard template, for the Cockpit Cover, worked Great!

I transfered the shape to sheet plastic & cut it out.

Then I bent the sides down to fit with Needle Nose Pliers.

After a little Fitting & Cutting the shape was very close...

DSCN4178D.jpg

I also added little strips of plastic around the inside edges of the body, to increase the gluing surface for the Cockpit Cover.

Makin' Room for DON the SNAKE FINK!!!

I cut out an access area for Don's Head.

DSCN4181D.jpg

Next I glued strips of 1/8" tall plastic strips around the edges of the area...

CREATING An ILLUSION For DON!!!

Next I cut a piece of sheet plastic just large enough to cover the 1/8" strips of plasic, and glued it in place.

DSCN4194D.jpg

Here is the Cockpit Cover set in place!

The "Sunken" Platform will be painted Flat Black, which will give the Illusion of Depth for the Interior...

Just a little more fitting & the Cover is ready to attach, then I'll start adding & replacing trim... B)

DON The SNAKE FINK Is BACK!!!

Looks like Don is ready for a Test Drive!

DSCN4201D.jpg

He couldn't even wait for the Cockpit Cover to be attached!

I think he likes his new ride so far...but he is still a little too big.

DSCN4202D.jpg

Don needs a little more trimming to lower him about 3/8" to 1/2" more into the Cockpit... B)
