Big Daddy Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I've been using acrylics up till today then i decided to mix some enamel, modelmaster french blue for my next build (59 impala conv) mix ratio was 1 jar paint to 1/2 jar of thinner when bam it hit me like a ton of bricks a major headache that was at 1;30 now it's 8pm and still have it so if it's going to be like this i think i'll take all my enamel back and switch it for acrylic, anyone else get headaches from there thinner
SuperStockAndy Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) Never really affected me, you gotta wear that respirator! Whenever I'm airbrushing, I ALWAYS wear it, since I'm just sitting there breathing the fumes in. Your lungs will thank you... Edited February 20, 2012 by SuperStockAndy
Evil Appetite Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Yep...it's a necessity, not a recommendation,no matter what you're painting with, acrylics included. Some of the old schoolers will tell ya that they wished they used'em back in the day, because they're suffering for it now.

Big Daddy Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 thing is i do have one and i do wear it ; it's like there are still some fumes in the air after i turn the paint booth off, maybe i just have a low tolerence to the laquer thinner !! maybe it;s for the best atleast with acrylic you don't have to wait days before you can comence working on yourbuild
