Rick, I did build this uh , model , back in 1966. The body while it looks right has GAP ISSUES ALL THROUGH IT!!!!!!!! The chassis went together pretty good , it was the body and the door alignment that infuriated me . I think had we had the adhesives we enjoy now and of course auto body fillers that stuck to what they were applied to, the story would have been different . I'm simply giving my experiences from years ago . Ed Shaver

I built one when I was 14 or so and loved it. Mind you, I didn't have the OCD about accuracy, fit and finish I have now. I have several of the kits that I am looking forward to tackling now that I can do them much better. The only issue I remember is the headlight buckets wouldn't fit to make the front hinge forward. I loved the separate bundle of snakes exhaust headers and actually got them to fit. It won second place way back when.

They look great when done but can be a bit finicky going together so test fit everything.

I think the interesting thing about this kit and all the others in the series and heck, may as well throw in those beloved Revell Tri-Fives with all the opening doors hoods and trunk, is that if you display them with all of their features open and after all that's the draw of these kits isn't it ?It doesn't matter if the gaps are big or not. Why else would you buy a kit with all of these working features? And let's not forget many of them have posable steering and other working features.

Now the part that comes to mind now is do you want to display them, with everything hanging out? I Have a 1:1 Charger that I show and I prefer to show it with the hood closed. Most people at shows have the hood up. I think the cars look better with the hoods closed.

Have fun. It's (they're) a great kit, historic too.

I have been working on one for about a year. The plastic is very fragile and I have had to scratch build several pcs. that crumbled. Also the fit is horrible, test fit eveything before you paint. You will need to fill the door, bonnet, and boot gaps with strip styrene to get them to look decent. Good luck and don't get discouraged. PM me if you have any questions.

Hello, there haven’t been any pics of one built yet so here’s mine, I got this as a unopened kit that my uncle bought new way back when. I regret building it I should of waited till I was more skilled but whatever, on the actual kit

The fit sucks seriously,

But the detail is amazing for that time, weld lines, rivets, and separate molded gages, not to mention everything opening, the only problem is all the sink holes on the kit, you end up losing detail just to sand away the problem spots.

The real down fall is the accuracy, it all looks right in scale but get a ruler out and a lot of it is very inaccurate, endless you’re a rivet counter this doesn’t matter much I guess.

Here’s my build eventually I gave up on accuracy and decided it would be something a guy built in the garage just similar to the real one,

(its still not totaly finshed but i just couldn't get some of the body good engough for paint)

O ya also my kit was missing some suspension pieces, not actually gone just not fully molded but this is hopefully an isolated case

Hey, it looks great. You've amazing work with a kit that is pretty much junk. They used to say IMC meant "impossible model car". Keep me posted it looks great.
