foxbat426 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 please post your can painted models. would love to see how proficient builders are with cans vs the airbrush. is there really that big a difference??
timc Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Ok here's mine.no air brush ...just cans. sorry for blurry pics.
martinfan5 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) If you click on the link in my signature line, all my builds are done using the can Here is something you should think about, its not just about using the can or airbrush, its how you prep and how you finish the paint job. If you take the time to wetsand and polish the paint, it does not matter what you use to lay done the paint. This was done using Model Master Lacquer paint out of a can And here it is after clear coating it and the wetsanding and polishing , only did the hood, roof , deck lid Edited March 11, 2012 by martinfan5
Chuck Most Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 If you click on the link in my signature line, all my builds are done using the can Ditto.
Dave Van Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 All my builds for the last ten years are spray can. 99.999% Tamiya TS. Start here........ http://public.fotki.com/DaveVan51/2008-model-builds/
Agent G Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I use cans quite a bit. Two tone doesn't matter either, careful masking is the key. G

Tonioseven Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) Those are beautiful, Antonio. What kind of clearcoat do you use? Thank you I used Testors Ultra Gloss clear lacquer from the can with a polishing kit on those builds. Edited March 11, 2012 by Tonioseven
James2 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) All done from Tamiya rattle cans. I do have an AB, but rarely use it. Tim Boyd did a article recently about fade jobs from a can. Very interesting read. Edited March 11, 2012 by JAMES2
Jon Cole Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I use spray bombs for bodies. Airbrushes are great for spraying engine blocks. Model Master Black: Testors Honduras Maroon: Model Master Black: I don’t even remember which brand, but I do recall this was my second try. To shoot the translucent green over the yellow, I taped a cardboard mask to the roof that hung over the side midsection about ¼” off the surface. Day glo paint has no shine, so it must be cleared. Regrettably, I didn’t know about “silvering” at the time, wish I had clearcoated before I added decals.
