Tye Brown Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 This weekend I had the best time doing models with my 12 yr old son. I showed how to use the air brush and man he is a natural. We built a Zinger and Isaac done most of the building. He painted all the parts himself with the air brush man and it turned out groovy. We had such a great time and he is hooked on models now I will post photos soon in Under Glass section
Ben Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I'm trying to get my son more interested in models. He's twelve as well. I am hoping he will want the same hobby as me because when I'm gone, he's gonna have a LOT of models to inherit!!!!!!!!
The70judgeman Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Kind of reminds me of when I was a kid. My dad and I would be at the diningroom table building models together. He stopped building after some time, but I had already caught the model building bug, or as Dr. Cranky would say..."the styrene addiction". He passed away in January and I recently bought a kit that he always wanted me to build for him. AMT's 1950 Chevrolet 3100. It's the vehicle he learned how to drive in on a farm he worked at when he was growing up. I never got around to building it for him, so in the near future I'll get it in the line-up to build in his memory. I always cherished those times building with my dad and it really sounds like you do too Tye.
