This is a design I had for a while now. With the thought of modern trucks like the CXT and others similar to it. I need to add a front axle yet to make it a 4x4 but it also uses a 47-early 55 Chevy pickup box. Enjoy.

I would like to. I know now using the Google Sketchup app how to cut up two cabs to make a crewcab so it would be fairly easy. The hard part would be the wheels and 53" tires. It is all to scale so all I would half to do is take more pics of it and print them out for reference. If I ever get my rod shop together I want to build a 1:1.

actually there is a resin pete cab out like that....all you have to do is add the box on the back....i believe that cab pops up on ebay from time to time?

edit....its a 68' though!....shouldnt be to hard to convert to a 53?

Nice, Thanks for the link. Those would work. A couple of inches shouldn't matter. I would just have to modify some alcoas which is what I did on this truck. I used some rock crusher wheels I found and put the Alcoa centers in them.

Ahh, you guys got all kinds of good info. I would just have to chop the extension off the back. I don't like the look of the portion behind the rear doors. My cab is slightly different because the rear part (rear doors back) are actually at a 90 degree angle, square, instead of angled with the front doors but we will see.

I guess throwing around ideas and trying to keep it looking real, probably go with a USA1 monster truck kit since it has the rockwell axles and modify everything to fit. With the smaller tires and all. These are the tires I would like to find 16.00 x 20 (52") Michelin XZLs. Military Tires.http://www.ityre.com/en/tyres/catalog/michelin/model/2056/

I have some tires that look almost exactly like that except they aren't big enough. OD is 1.5 in and ID is 11/16.

By the way, I have a dodge little red wagon bed I would part with. It might work just as well.
