mysterj1 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 (edited) I've been looking through quite a few threads to see if I can find some great ideas to assist me, myself, and I in assembling some great kits. I've been out of modeling for quite a while and am really impressed with some of the great tips I've found here! I'm all for test fitting, and I'm building a jig to help keep my rigs flat and square. I've seen some people say they put the front crossmember in and work their way back (gluing it between BOTH frames) OR some seem to say glue your all of your crossmembers into place on one half of the frame before gluing the other half of the frame into place. How do you build your kits? Edited March 14, 2012 by mysterj1
JunkPile Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I assemble both rails and all crossmembers with no glue, square it up, flatten it out, pin or tape it solid to mat or jig, then lightly apply liquid glue to all joints and let dry. Then I carefully apply more glue (with a glue that I really trust) to these joints. Good luck and have fun
pete3522 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I tried both way but if you wanna stay square use a jig their easy to make their was a forum on how to make one on here somewhere i have used some scrap plywood pieces and some c clamps before
