Greg Myers Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I figured it out. I think. Ooops, we put a topic in "The Wrong Section" ? Some times I put things in the "General " section because I feel it has interest and will be well received. If you look at the numbers it makes scene to put things here. Sure they could go in another section, but "should" they ? Just because that's how they could be categorized ? More people look here (General) than the other areas. So why deprive them of this information ? Just an example : http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54823 Sure it was a like to another thread, I just thought a lot of people would have missed it otherwise.
Harry P. Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I figured it out. I think. Ooops, we put a topic in "The Wrong Section" ? Sure they could go in another section, but "should" they ? Just because that's how they could be categorized ? Yes. That's the whole point. If we move a topic but leave a link in the section where it was first posted, you see an arrow and the topic title still shows up in the original posted section (the section where it was incorrectly posted). If we move a topic and do not leave a link in the section where it was first posted, you don't see an arrow and the topic title is gone from the original section where it was incorrectly posted. That's how I move them. No link. I'm trying to get you guys to start paying attention to where things are supposed to be posted. It's a never-ending process... I have to move topics every day. Apparently many of you either don't pay any attention to where you post what, or you just don't care, or you live in some sort of parallel universe where for example, in your world a question about how to strip chrome belongs in the "Under Glass" section because "more people will see it there"...
Guest Johnny Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Lighten up Harry! It's St Paddy's Day and things will only get more like this as the day goes on!
