Terry Jessee Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 This is my 1938 Henway Speed Six. I started this in 1985 and keep fiddling with it. Right now I'm trying to figure out a better engine. What's in it is an old Austin Healey six from a Strombecker kit (I think). But the twin carbs are a little exotic for what this is, so I have to come up with a different intake manifold and carburetor. Still have to do an interior for it, too. Lots to finish.... I keep fooling with it, though. This one is a '91 Chevy Dooley. I've beefed up the chassis and suspension, and raised things up a little. Wheels are an old set of All-American Models Chevy one-ton wheels on AMT tires from the Dodge Ram Dooley kit. Working on putting together an engine (one small piece at a time....) This has full suspension and poseable steering, along with an engine--probably a 454--and a bench seat I modified from a Caprice. Terry
jeffs396 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 WOW!!! Love that Henway! (I've never heard of one!) Looks a lttle like an old Diamond Reo grille up front... Is it a diecast Terry? 1/24?

No, it used to be an AMT "Orange Blossom Special" pull truck. The nose is scratchbuilt with a vacuformed hood, and the box is plastic sheet. Chassis is actually an MPC '80 Ford Bronco modified to look older. I kinda pulled this out of thin air. That's why it's taken so long. Everytime I make progress I run into an obstacle. So I put it back until I can come up with something that solves the problem. I looked for wheels and tires for about five or six years. Finally found a set of wheels in an old Monogram 1/32 scale Army truck. I make it up as I go along. Terry
