itsclayyoo Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I need a lil help with some detailing. I painted my weld racing rims flat black and have been attepting to paint the lug nuts on the rims aluminum, buttttttt i keep getting the aluminum paint on the rims intead of the lug nuts..i have used a reallly small brush. a paint marker. and a q-tip..but i still get the paint on the rims...any tips?
Scuderia Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) YES, what Bob said. As a long time nascar modeler, I've used tootpicks for lugs. get a box of wooden toothpicks. I prefer wooden so i can shave the tips down easily. it really helps alot with other lil stuff too. I dip the toothpick in the paint left in my jar lid. then a lil dab of it on the lugs. ALSO there are extra fine tip paint pens with varying colours available if you have a hobby lobby or scrapbooking type place near you. Edited April 28, 2012 by Scuderia
