Does anyone know of anyone who produces either just the dash and steering wheel or a complete conversion kit to transform a '66 Fairlane into a ''67? I have bought the Modelhaus resin '67 grille and tail lights but the dash boards are different between '66 and '67 ( man would never realize the difference, but they are different ) I'd really like to get my hands on a '67 Fairlane 500 body with the side trim.. how many other guys would like to see that available complete with bench seat? It would be a fairly easy conversion for someone skilled and with a good, steady hand and good eye sight to fabricate the Fairlane 500 side trim.. for both a Fairlane hardtop and a '67 Ranchero which in my opinion is the prettiest Ranchero ( next to the '57 ) ever produced. But for now, I'd be happy with a '67 gash and steering wheel..

I used the steering wheel from the AMT '67 Mustang GT. The steering whel in the original AMT '67 Fairlane GT was wrong in that it did not have the flower pot hub.

With all due respect, the dash boards on the '66 and '67 Fairlanes are not the same at all. yes, they are similiar but different enough to any knowing eye..'

Here's a '66 dash - http://www.secondchancegarage.com/public/photogallery3/1966-ford-fairlane-gta/1966-ford-fairlane-gta-dash.jpg

And here's a '67 dash - http://www.flickr.com/photos/myoldpostcards/6738572799/

The door panels are also different as is the seat upholstery although the differences are slight. I have owned a '66 GTA hardtop and several '67's and trust me, they are different.

the difference you are showing is the difference in the trim level... you are showing a 66 XL 500 and the 67 you are showing in a Standard 500

With all due respect, I just bought a '67 fairlane interior tub and dash off Ebay and the dash boards are most definitely different. As i said, I have owned and worked on a few '66 and '67's and the top of the dash on a '66 is pretty much flat where as the '67 is raised much higher on the '67. There are pieces of dash trim also that are specific to each year regardless of the car being a fairlane 500 or an XL or a GT. The base Fairlane doesn;t have the plastic woodgrained piece of trim running along the borrom edge of the dash that the other more expensive models have but they are definitely different between the years.

The '67 dash that I just received, seems to be almost a copy of the '66 GT dash but t here are subtle differences that are accurate in depicting a '67 only dash board.
