93Z34 Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Don't know why, but that style Peterbilt really seems to strike a chord with me. I like the sloping hood and the single headlight setup. The towing company I worked for had one of these in their fleet mated to a Challenger wrecker body. That truck could pull danged near anything it hooked onto. It was the workhorse of the fleet, that's for sure. You did a great job on this conversion Tim. I wish I had more of the 377 kits in my inventory so I could tackle one of these myself. Maybe I need to invest in one for that purpose only. Are you going to add a trailer to the tractor? All the trucks I've seen like this in these parts are workhorses. Not much chrome and dirty and dinged to beat all heck. Most around here haul things like cattle trailers, dumps, and even flatbeds loaded with crushed cars. Your truck looks way too nice to be hauling a crappy load though. Keep up the great work!!!
mackinac359 Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 Boy, you sure hit the nail on the head! Tim As you know already, Hank's site is a source of unlimited inspiration for truck modelers. I see trucks on that site I may never see in my lifetime, most notably, Euro trucks and antique trucks. I have so many truck ideas based on them in my mind, I may never get to all of them. Especially at the rate I'm going.
SpreadAxle Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I agree with you both about Hank's. Speaking of the visor on the back window, how did you make that Tim? Again, nice work on the truck. I think this fleet also has Kenworth trucks, but I'm not sure. It's been a couple of months since I saw one their trucks. Most are dressed like this one from what I have seen though. Very nice choice in subject matter.
mackinac359 Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 Ray The visor is just a piece of flat plastic covered with Bare Metal foil. The next time I make one, I will make the sides and "bowtie" shape. Tim I agree with you both about Hank's. Speaking of the visor on the back window, how did you make that Tim? SpreadAxle Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Ok. I thought it was either that or bare metal foil by itself. That helps for future reference. Thanks.
