If any of you have used it could I get a review and maybe some pictures? I want to know if it's as difficult or easier than Alclad chrome. How does it compare price wise?

Kevin, I have used Spaz-Stix Mirror Chrome on both plastic and resin parts and I'm real happy with the product. I give the parts a light coat of primer and then Krylon Short Cuts Black as a base coat. Then 2 or 3 light coats of Spaz-Stix and there you have it. I have a couple of pictures of the parts I have done with it but I'm having trouble posting them for some reason. I also used this product on my current build that I hope to finish soon.

Kevin,I just recently got back into the hobby and from my experience I have tried both and have got good results from both, but I like Spazstix much better,I feel its easier to use and my opinion looks more "chrome" like and I was very impressed from Spazstix,I ordered a can on a late Tuesday morning and It was waiting on my door step Wednesday evening when I got home from work.

Kevin,no I just paid standard shipping because I was in no hurry, their mailing address is in Utah and I don't have the package it was sent in but I thought it was from New Jersey......either way it was flat out fast shipping....

You have to use a black base coat correct?

Yes you need a black base coat. Spaz-Stix is made for lexan bodies and one would spray the Spaz-Stix on the inside of the clear lexan body and then use the black after that. We would use it just the opposite way and spray the black on first. BTW, I wouldn't suggest using clear over the Spaz-Stix.

I just took the bait and ordered a can of Ultimate Mirror Chrome . A 3.5 oz can costs $12.99 plus .91 tax plus $8.96 shipping . That's $22.86 for a small can of paint that is probably no better than Krylon or Rustoleum . I hope I am wrong .

I will post pictures when I get it .

Whoa, Bob. Where did you order it from? A Main Hobbies has the spray for $9.89 but I didn't get far enough into the order to get delivery costs.

If you follow directions with the Spazstix chrome I think you'll be pleasantly surprised- use light coats over a smooth black base coat (they also sell their own base coat black in aerosol) and you'll get chrome-like results, comparable or even better than Alclad. Use too much in heavy coats and the results are more like Testor's chrome spray, so keep it light.

^^ Not my link- posted by member sjordan in another thread on chrome (Alclad, Spazstix).

I wonder if Alclad or SpazStix would work better for a paint job like this on the Fisker that Ellen DeGeneres gave Justin Bieber. (You can actually order a Mercedes SLS AMG from the factory with this kind of finish).

I find it a LOT better than Krylon or Rustoleum and that's why I use it. I was able to pick mine up at a hobby shop so I didn't have to pay shipping. Of course I did spend enough on gas.

I just got a can of the Mirror Chrome spray myself. I plan on doing some tests with it next week to see what I like best as a base coat etc. I'll post my results when I get them done. I was encouraged by some of the other pictures that were posted by other members. So, we'll see.

Nick , The part in your photo looks pretty decent , but it's hard to tell for sure . Seems like most everyone who has used it gives it a thumbs up .

About how much was it at the LHS ? I've done some web browsing and I have found it for less than Spaz-Stix charges , but with shipping it still costs $15 - $18 .

I followed through with A Main Hobbies. They want $9.89 for the rattle can and then $12.49 shipping. No way will pay $22.38 for a can of paint. I'll see if the LHS can get me a can.

Just don't expect it to look like real chrome, kit chrome or what you would get if you sent it to a place like ChromeTech USA. It's going to look good, but more like polished aluminum than real chrome.
