cooltoys1 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Im likin this project, it actually is inspiring me to dig out mine and do similar. Your promo is actually a 73/74. Johan got very lazy in those years and marked their 74 Cutlasses 75 and 76 without changing the body details. 1975 Cutlass has a different grill and some other subtile differences. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://v8cars.hu/cutlass/y76/75knight.jpg&imgrefurl=http://v8cars.hu/cutlass/stuff.php%3Fpage%3Dy76&usg=__DzWA2rCph6SuAfwctbCfBsBID3Y=&h=192&w=400&sz=25&hl=en&start=6&zoom=1&tbnid=5-JTmRWA7ExMtM:&tbnh=60&tbnw=124&ei=e33fT5TiMemR6gGym9HFCw&prev=/search%3Fq%3D1975%2Bcutlass%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX%26gbv%3D2%26rlz%3D1W1_____en%26tbm%3Disch%26prmd%3Divns&itbs=1

Guest Darkside Customs Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Got the trunk hinged.... This is how I did it... Photos should be self explanatory lol...
Guest Darkside Customs Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Got the motor for this and back on it again... Started working on the rear setup... May drop it a bit more though...
Guest Darkside Customs Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Ok, so I got the front suspension going... I think this might be it.... Not totally sure, but I kinda dig it locked up like this... Before anyone says anything about the front wheels... A lot of the lowriders use extended upper a arms so it makes the wheels angle outward like that...
mini trucker Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Looks good locked up like that, I say run with it!
Guest Darkside Customs Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Here's the motor and all the parts for it... Got them soaking in a container with warm water and some Clorox ....
Harold Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Cool how a 108" wheelbase in 1:24 becomes 112" in 1:25.
Guest Darkside Customs Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Well got started with the motor.... Everything seems to fit with minimal work... Of course I'm stupid and glued the oil pan backwards... But I got it fixed...lol Fits in the engine bay pretty good....
bryan_m Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 aaaw ######!! i totally forgot about those pics james.............sorry, ill try to get them tomorrow for you.... bryan
bryan_m Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 dont feel bad, you not the only guy who ever glued an oil pan on backwards! ive done it more than once.... duh! LOL :D cheers bryan
