Lownslow Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 I prefer Sherline myself. space is an issue
Dr. Cranky Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I agree with Ben. Sherline is about as small as you can get and still get a great quality tool.
Chief Joseph Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 That's a cute little machine, but a watchmaker is going to use a real European watchmakers' lathe and a hobbyist will want to use something that has more options. Sherline and Taig lathes are far and away superior to this nano lathe.
dustym Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I have to agree with the Sherline. I was looking at other brands (Chinese) and settled on a Sherline, due to the preference on this board. I have had it about six months now and just love it.
MAGNUM4342 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I'm actually considering one. The price isn't that bad...but I would rather get one used. They're cheaper and already broken in.
Scale-Master Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 You get what you pay for, if you are lucky... Another reason I am a Sherline user.
Mooneyzs Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I would really like to get a sherline lathe and end mill one day myself.
my80malibu Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I was over at the Taig factory so to speak its in a very nice home with a large steel building on the property .you would never guess they make anything there .
