After reading through almost every thread in this section there was one thing that I didn't find... How to create seat belt buckles.

Simple but effective seat belts can be made from masking tape. Trim the tape to the width you need, use a black Sharpie to color the belt with, (on some cars the seat belt may be the same color as the upholstery, especially older cars, for those use the appropriate color Sharpie or flat acrylic paint), & a metallic silver Sharpie for the buckle. Craft & sewing ribbon also comes in very handy for seat belts.

The belt part is easy enough, But how was the buclke made?

Any help will be greatly appriciated.

TIA.

Hello,

Using PE (photo etch) hardware is the best way to go. There are many options available.

However, you can also made them with thin styrene plastic. Cut the part in a bell shape and then drill a hole in the middle. You can "square" the hole with a #11 blade. Then you can either paint it chrome silver or use metal foil. That's how I did this one a few years ago.

As for the latch (or whatever the receiving end is called), I make a wedge shape using a flat toothpic and paint it. Then I add some red paint for the button. Keep in mind this picture is many times bigger than actual size. It looks better in person

Hope this helps.
