DanR Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) It's not often that I get a request from the 'woman of the house' to build something, so when I do, I accommodate her. She picked out the color, the bumpers, grille, and pinstriping. I had a firm "no flames" order. Edited August 19, 2012 by DanR
DanR Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 And thanks to Mike for the replacement "glass!"
cobraman Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Thats a very nice clean build. Color looks great.
DanR Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Thanks Ray, it actually looks better and glossier than the pictures show. Too much of the metallic is getting picked up.
MichaelJ Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Sweeeeeet!!!!!!!! Look's like shiney kandy! She has good taste, and you did a really GRRR88888TT job at feeding her sweet tooth..... Michaelj...
Olskoolrodder Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 VERY kool!!! My Boss Lday is standing behind me as I look at it,she likes it too
Skydime Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) Very nice...although I have built two and don't remember a non frenched headlight option. Edited August 20, 2012 by Skydime
jcbigpaw Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Very nice. Good clean finished product. Nice job
crazyjim Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 SHINY :) and purple - can't go wrong with that combo.
DanR Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Very nice...although I have built two and don't remember a non frenched headlight option. Hi Ken - the headlights were straight out of the kit.
Skydime Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) Did you just front mount them? i guess that's really a feasable option when I think of the design. Edited August 20, 2012 by Skydime
Sixties Sam Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 It's a beauty! Great color, and very well built. Sam
Bluemiles22 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Awesome build! I did the same one for my girl lol. She picked the same bumpers and grill but a lighter purple and black pin stripes. Great job man!
DanR Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 Did you just front mount them? i guess that's really a feasable option when I think of the design. Ken, sorry for the delayed response. I went back and checked the box and you're right - the headlights were meant to be frenched. What's interesting is that the instructions show the chrome headlight buckets being mounted outside and I actually followed through without thinking about it. To be honest, I like the look - the addition of just a bit more chrome is not hurting things!
Brian_B Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Looks great. Are the pin strips decals? Where did you find those?
Skydime Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Yeah, I like it too. It's a very nice build and the stock look on the headlights gives it a little something different. Great job on the whole car!
DanR Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 Looks great. Are the pin strips decals? Where did you find those? Hi Brian, the pinstripes came with the kit. Revell was kind enough to supply mutiple variants in three different colors - white, black, and gold!
Brian_B Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Hi Brian, the pinstripes came with the kit. Revell was kind enough to supply mutiple variants in three different colors - white, black, and gold! Sweet deal. I love the old school pinstripe. I want them on my 1:1 '56 someday.
