Ben Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I just got off the phone with Ebay and I was Extremely mad and I let the supervisor know it!!!!! I have been with Ebay since the very beginning and I've never had a negative or nuetral feedback. I have sold 18 items over the years most items were over 250.00. A lot of them were international sales. I recently sold a few items to keep the bills paid as I am out of work only to find that Paypal has a hold on my money!!!!! I was just told that one of Ebay's requirements to be a "good seller" is to have at least 25 U.S. sales. They don't count the International sales but they still hold your money on them! How unfair is that! Of course the supervisor was acting like a robot and just kept repeating himself. They could care less about the seller but boy, they sure will charge you a fee on everything they can. It's disgusting!! Yes, I know there's other places to sell things but they're not "known" like Ebay is and Ebay knows this!
Darin Bastedo Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Nobody is forcing you to sell on ebay. I stopped selling there years ago when the started jacking up their fees. Between paypal and ebay, and the rising cost of shipping there was no way I could sell a model and get anywhere near what I needed to get out of it. Ebay is no longer set up for the hobbyist to sell of unwanted models. If I have a model that I could sell at a swap meet for $15.00, I can sell it for 15 at the swap meet. If I put that same model on Ebay I would have to charge at least 6-7 dollars for shipping, and if the bidder sis smart they will bid it up to no more than $10. after ebay and paypal takes their fees I'm left with $6.50. Add to that I had to spend my time listing, packing and taking the model to the post office, it's barely worth it to sell the model, I may as well build it.
