Nope, ive just been told that moebius used a lot of amt stuff for basic measurements (like the chassis on the Comet is baced off of the amt 66 fairlane). 11 minutes ago, stitchdup said: or both got scaled properly Yeah, probably.

Zen Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Got some 66 Fairlane hoods from SMH, 2 look good and fit but the teardrop looks like it may be for a 64? 2

That teardrop could be for an annual kit, the hoods were a tad bigger on them. They also came with clear teardrop hoods so thats most likely what its molded off of.
Rodent Posted November 4 Posted November 4 4 hours ago, Zen said: Got some 66 Fairlane hoods from SMH, 2 look good and fit but the teardrop looks like it may be for a 64? Do you have an AMT 66 Galaxie? That might be what the teardrop actually fits, by the curvature of the nose.

That's what I was thinking too from the width. But why would anyone waste time and materials making a teardrop hood for the '66 Galaxie when every issue had one in it already? 1 1
John M. Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I bought this trailer off E Bay a short time ago. The price was right and it'll look good behind a my 53 Ford PU or 61 Ford Ranchero. An E Bay photo of it. 5

Well, I did some looking, its definitely just a coppy of the annual 66 fairlane clear hood. The annual hoods were a tad wider than the retooled version so thats were your fitment issue comes from. Heres a photo of an annual clear hood, even has the hood pins. 3

Went by WalMart for a completely different reason today, but somehow the '66 Mustang GT, the only one left, jumped into my shopping cart as I walked by. So now, that makes it an even dozen. 1

Interesting, thanks for solving the mystery. The front edge/face seemed off too, shaped differently than the other 2 hoods. I guess I'll modify it to fit then. 1
Rocketman455 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Got this today. Last one I needed in order to have all the Tamiya 1/6 bikes. I've wanted one since I was 14. And that was about 46 years ago. Usually go for more than I wanted to spend. Got this one very reasonable. 9

Got these at WalMart on Thursday. Picked this up at Hobby Lobby Friday. I've never seen these paints before but thought I would get them and give them a try. Ok, I've got this off my chest, maybe I'll be able to continue on with no more downfalls. Nice haul!
meechum68 Posted Monday at 03:15 AM Posted Monday at 03:15 AM So, I got an old tackle box for parts, my mother inlaw who passed 16 years ago was a sewing monster, well we were unpacking a shipping crate soon to be my actual outside shop for mechanic work etc, we came across it, full of stuff that is old and in poor shape due to age, my wife couldn't salvage any of it, so I am recycling the tackle box for parts. And if things stay like they are, I may make a traveling model building box out of it. Will get some foam for bodies, and have lots of space for tools, and paint. So it was my new to me tool box for building. 2
