Picked up a few kits for our upcoming IPMS EXPO on June 1st

Hobby Lobby is having their 40% sale and I picked up a few things for the kit raffle. I was surprised they had the 71 Demon

Hit up a local show and scored a few goodies. Was pleased to find the much maligned AMT '34 Ford Tudor, it's one kit I built as a kid that I haven't been able to find at a decent price. The AMT '62 Fairlane came with the box and all the parts. The '59 & '60 Mercs should clean up nicely. They'll have a good home next to my other rebuilder projects until I get to them. Amazon dropped these on my porch tonight.   It's gonna be awhile till I get to them.  I'm thinking one of these may have to be a 4X4.IMG_0015M.jpg.dc19decf2ba2d1b82cbc04fc13ca54f6.jpg

I got the latest reissue of Revell's 1964 Impala SS.  I already have a few in my stash but the new decals convinced me to get this reissue.  Here it is on the hood of my 2014 Impala.

Coupla three swap meet finds today…

Revell 37 Truck kit, $10

AMT Silhouette and trailer, $5

This cool T-bird custom, $5

IMG_1942.thumb.jpeg.2daada0410a5b150bf6d1d070858cd6d.jpeg

And this Premier Corvette, which doesn’t look much like a Corvette but was cool enough that I wanted it…

IMG_1946.thumb.jpeg.867edd2e0fd23962e96933fe78e15c24.jpeg

Made in Brooklyn!  Not far from our last apartment if ‘Brooklyn 21’ was where I think it was…kinda cool!

IMG_1947.thumb.jpeg.7e74fb41565275aed65fdd3b57af7f15.jpeg

This one didn’t follow me home…

IMG_1835.thumb.jpeg.56a9a9e554c1ec11fcb18fe1f543c066.jpeg

…and this would’ve had potential but the really good stuff was all overpriced… $10 for a pair of old AMT wheels, then another $10 for the tires…booo…

Still, happy with what I did bring home!

Some times a wish it was available as a kit, does become a reality. My holy grail Australian car, is now available as a plastic kit. ?

I saw these had come out, I pre-ordered the Brock Bathurst car. I wonder why it hasn't been released at the same time? Hope they haven't hit a licencing issue with the Brock Estate.

Back in 1963, my family was still a one car family. We had just moved into a new house. My best friend's mother often provided a drive to school. Her car was a 1963 Galaxie 500 XL. It was a light blue, metallic colour. After doing some research online, it seems it was Viking Blue Poly. Side note here, I sure wish it was easy to purchase Scale Finishes or MCW paints in Canada. A friend has suggested that Tamiya TS-58 Light Pearl Blue is a close match. In the past, I had purchased can of Dupli-Color Medium Blue Metallic. I know it is hard to judge colours from computer screen images, but I would appreciate your thoughts. I will do a spoon test. I went to get some plastic spoons from the cupboard only to find that only one was left in the box. And of course I can't just go to the store to buy a box, because single use items can't be purchased. LOL I went online to Amazon to buy a box of 400, a lifetime supply! LOL
