This might be easy. Unscrew the screws on the chassis. This will release the bumpers and body. Glass and interior may be easy too, that depends on how much glue if any was used to secure it. The pieces are usually held on posts by little rings of plastic. You might be able to pry those off very carefully.

I did actually get it apart, there were actually no screws or plastic rings, just some snap together prongs, however one on the rear was broken off and missing before I got it, but it doesn’t affect how the car fits together.

I got this 1/8 scale Trans Am. Apparently not a model typically sold in the US. Got this one from Germany. Great price considering what I have seen. It will be a fun build. I think I will do an aftermarket 77-78 nose, and taillight swap to build a Bandit T/A. The T/A used for Smokey and the Bandit 2 was the 80 Turbo T/A. I actually built that one back in the early 80s. I will go nicely with my 1/8 85 vette.

Typically the European boxing of Revell kits is normally the nemesis of modellers. The flat box style often results in damaged product. This time it appears there is extra internal bracing in the form of an additional insert that holds the instructions. This is a good step forward in terms of packaging.

It also arrived in a bigger separate box. It was not just the best price on the interwebs, but it was well packaged too boot.

From the lack of detail vs normal ROG kits, I think it's the Monogram kit reissued, since Revell owns Monogram, it makes sense. It will also have a warped hood...just letting you know.

Patience has paid off, went to our local vintage junk shop and holy smokes there was an original issue 1959 Lincoln AMT kit for $20! Just a question as it is a snap tite how easy on a scale of one to ten would it be to disassemble the car? Kinda unsure as I don’t want to break anything since it’s so old

Now you need the recently available AMT 59 Imperial to keep it company :)

I was just thinking about that; I'd also need the '59 Cadillac hardtop from Monogram to have "The Big Three in Luxury" for 1959

Smokin' hot deal. Good job. The only one of those I have is complete, but had a very hard life...and I paid more for it.  :D

AMT '59 Ford Galaxie hardtop, well-built from a kit...NOT a warped, shrunken acetate promo.

Yellowed overall as they do, just missing the front fender-top chrome inserts with the "gunsights".

Whoever detail-painted the interior and chrome trim (only on one side) did such a nice job, I kinda hate to mess with it.

And only about 12.5% of the asking for one NIB on feePay.  :D

Arrived today..This wasn't on my must have kit list but it peeked my interest due to its rarity and weirdness. So I took a chance on it on an ebay auction. Looks complete but I haven't inventoried it yet, just a quick look see. The box is a little rough and the decal sheet backing is crackled but the decals look okay, still not usable but they may be okay for STS to perform there miracles. 🤷‍♂️

Worth the hype? Guess I'll find out.

These are fantastic. They’re meant to use along side the red pair  or any pair to do the first cut, and blue pair does finishing close cut. Do not use these to cut thick gates on parts or you could end up disappointed.

I remember building this AMT 59 as a kit, think my parents paid 98 cents for it on sale....that was back before the Earth's crust cooled..

Seller sixft4kid92c2 on FleaPay has a lot of promo and model fender and hood ornaments. The '59 Galaxie ones are $7.50 each, but they are nice.

A couple of freebies today. They were in a junk pile. The boxes have been wet and the parts will need to be washed, but it looks like everything is there. What's funny is last year I wanted to buy a GT90 but gave up because eBay was too expensive.

That Caddy kit's not bad; I built one though in an attempt to make it stock the build got kinda confusing, so the mish-mash of colours made it look wonky, as well as the fact I did a brush body painting. May re-do it in the future. Makes for a smooth roller in the end though.

This came by post today, for a particular project having seen one on TV programme Shed and Buried (I think!)

To emulate this E-Type Rat Rod  which is in fact a BMW M5 under the body!

E-Type-Rat.jpg

17.01.25. Whoa! I started to paint the body which is two parts the top and bottom. Problem is that the top half doesn't sit on the bottom half(which includes in one moulding the chassis, body and interior etc) The top is a quarter inch wider than the bottom! So you could say it touches fine at the rear, touches fine down one side, the other side though overlaps along the side by a quarter of an inch!

I have no idea why I bought this, since I absolutely hated these barges when they were new. I guess they have grown on me over the years.

Resin trans kit from Paul Hettick arrived on Wednesday. The interior was mastered by our own forum member Tom Ellifritt.

Donor kit arrived from Burbank's House of Hobbies today (neither HL or my LHS had one).

I wish it didn't have vinyl top belt moldings. They are going to be a pain to BMF and I don't think I can do a decent job of removing them.

Thinking dark blue, navy interior, black vinyl top. That means that the bodyside molding will have to be black as well.
