Ist this a kit of one of the "one of a kind" REAL Rapid Transit cars?

Sort of.

The box art represents the actual Rapid Transit System car . Yes its a one of a kind

But there is nothing in the box to even come close to build said car

Mail man just dropped this one off. An  MPC 1967 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. The interior is brush painted and will strip super easy. Chassis just has a few little things picked out in black paint.  The body is no paint anywhere , all the emblems are mint . This will be an easy one.

The windshield frame is pushed down a little more than I thought ( not packed very well ) . But I think will be a fairly easy fix . All the parts for it  are there. And it looks like everything to build it stock is there.  This is one Ive  wanted for a while,,,but not bad enough I was gonna pay for the moon to get it.

It was listed as a buy it now, or make an offer. So I though what the heck , ( nothing ventured = nothing gained)  and I did, for about half the buy it now price. And the seller accepted it.

Considering what  I see these sell for on a very regular basis. I got a pretty good deal on it.

Ive already pulled all the OE stock stuff out of the kit that I'll need. And will sell off the box and all the remains.

If you remember this show or this kit, you are old......I'm 52 but I remember the show.

The box isn't the best but it is complete (partially assembled).  Decals are dry transfer. Bear is included (!) but molded to the passenger seat.   Would have preferred a model of Judy Landers.

Thanks,

After seeing what another sold for the past couple days. I stole this one.

Sold the box and the spare parts elsewhere earlier today.

That Brings the costs down even more. Puts me in it at  just under $75  postage and all.  :D

The last time it was issued was 1975, it was an annual kit that I believe got a '76 & '77 version as well. But that would be the last time it (although I could be wrong) it came as a 3n1 with all the stock parts.

Argh! I've been hunting for this one for a while. Haven't stumbled across one yet that wasn't ridiculously priced!

Want to trade? lolz

Found these for $6.11 each in the Hobby Lobby clearance section...

I also bought some of those Jacquard Metallic paints on sale at HL.  I've only experimented with the Yellow so far.  They're pre-thinned for the airbrush and worked well thru an Aztek.  They are acrylic, and cleaned up oK with Tamiya X-20 thinner or 91% isopropyl alcohol.

One thing I noticed:  the Yellow was sensitive to the primer under it. Which I guess is common for any yellow paint. Sprayed over white primer or bare white plastic, the color came out as a nice bright metallic yellow.  The metal "flakes" even looked in scale, not the lumps you see in some metallic paints.  But sprayed over grey primer, the color shifted to more of a darker gold, not bright yellow.  So far, they're fun to play around with and I think they'll be useful.
