Got a Revell 2008 Bullitt Mustang. Didn't realize till the other day that this kit existed, and I'd missed it at the time, and it had been TEN YEARS and I better be hitting ePay for one. And then yesterday I ran into one locally for what I considered a good price (a little under Full Metal Retail for current kits at Hobby Lobby). So I got THAT box checked off.

A trip to Penn State Hershey near Harrisburg PA paid off pretty nice for me. I found these at the local Ollies.

We need a Ollies in utah

I've been pretty lucky. It's always hit or miss there. There's an Ollies close to me but they haven't had many kits lately, although I did find one there last week I wanted. I don't get to Harrisburg often, this is the first time I saw kits there. A big plus was that they were just inside the entrance, so I was grabbing before my wife came back with a cart. I almost ordered the 60 Vette for 28 bucks and shipping a few weeks ago.

Just won this on eBay. Got a heck of a deal on it. Not for sure exactly what I'll do, but gasser comes to mind. There is a hard top kit in the box. Regardless of what I do with it, it will have a hard top on it. I couldn't pass it up for 5 bucks and change.

Then I got this 60 Bonnie at an antique store for a great price because it was warped. Got to figure out how, if possible, to straighten it a bit.

If I can't get it straightened it won't be the end of the world. Nice day yesterday.

Later-

Good luck with that one! It's not accurate as a Turbo, nor is it really accurate for the concept it is based on. Depending on how accurate you want it to be though, it is still fun to build!

Did a little trade yesterday and got these from a great guy.

The 63 Meteor is only missing the taillights. If anyone knows where I can score some... The 63 Starfire is complete with the exception of tires and wheels. The 55 is a body and many parts and pieces from the kit and a Nomad (enough to build a full car). The 39 is only missing tires and wheels. The 62 Tbird is CLEAN and the Charger is sealed inside.

Then I picked these two up from a thrift store for $6 for the pair.

Nice haul Tom. Too bad the Pontiac is bent. Hopefully you can straighten it as it looks pristine otherwise.

This week’s buys. Going to need help with the caddy and it’s windshield frame. Not sure if it’s 1/25 scale. I realized I had an earlier issue of the middle model. Name of it escapes me at the moment. ? The Caddy  radio still works. One station playing Cindy Lauper but heck. Why not.

Yes. I saw one there also.

I had to come out of my four month non building hiatus tonight as I had to repair a model so that I can display it at the meeting tomorrow. I hope that I'm ready to get back to plastic modeling, even though I'm still fairly busy at the time.

If you're looking for wheel covers, try the stock ones from the '66 Nova - they're shaped wrong for the Nova but are near-identical to the Starfire's finned ones:

My friend in Japan had a talk to Japan Post, who in turn lit a fire under N.Y. postpones a.., and I FINALLY got my Aoshima Countach kit in!!…….even if it did look like it was used in the World Cup finals. It was packed so good, that there wasn't even the slightest damage to the box inside!  Since I didn't know I was ever gonna get it, I had already ordered another one. Heres whats on its way.....

Just won this on eBay - we're planning an informal Rommel's Rod build off on the Coffin Corner when the reissue comes out, but I wanted an original one too...this looked in decent shape:

It is pretty amazing that the postal folks in Japan could get things moving in New York and your new order is pretty spectacular.

I just had new tires put on my Jeep and didn't get anything but a long wait when the tire changer broke the alignment rig.   Then they had the gall to tell me I needed an alignment!  A week later I took it into the dealer for a recall and they have one of these drive through alignment rigs and said the alignment was fine.  Sorry for going off topic.

My week in models.  I've been on a Monogram Model A binge lately.  I grabbed this 30 Cabriolet from the 'bay for $15.  It was listed as "parts kit - may not be complete".  That was fine because I needed parts.  Upon receiving it, I cannot find anything missing at all!  I've used the stock 4 in a current project.  This one will use the Chevy V8 from that project.

I bought my friend, Tim Boyd's book!  Everyone needs to do this.  It arrived yesterday so I know what I'm doing in my spare time this weekend.

The top photo is my score from the Super September Showdown last weekend.  Spent a total of $20 at the show.   The Duster has a partially brush painted body, but I wanted it for the chassis to use in an old Valiant build, so $10 was fine.   The Monza is one of those Lindberg 1/32 scale 70s cars. I never pass one of those up for $5.  I've been trying to collect that whole series.  And yes, yet another Monogram Model A for $5.  Brush painted but very nicely built.  It does have the tires with it, so I'm going to just put it on the shelf until I need it for a project.  Funny thing, another vendor had an old poorly built 1930 Ford Cabriolet that he wanted $25 for, I just chuckled that I had an unbuilt one in a box for much less!
