mopar01lee Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) ok i have been down in the building area lately .. so i had an idea . i had an old 71 prepainted duster half built. an i wanted to build a bad street car, like an et street , with modern drag whells , m/t et streets, an a nasty 340,, well the prob is there are no good 340 performance parts .. so i made my own.. i call it the duster kit cuz i made it only for my duster.. first i made a set of aftermarket aluminum valve covers.. an a high rise air gap intake .. then i got a set of 5 ring drag rims , but they were front only .. so i added a deep ring an made a set of big an littles. oh the intake is a 2 peice , an a mock up in the car .. yall should see the headers on this thing wow ill get a pic of them soon.. hope yall like .. i do have a few sets ..there not flawless but darn near .. later days davin Edited November 27, 2012 by mopar01lee
1972coronet Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Nice work !! That intake looks great !!! How are the headers ; underchassis or fenderwell ? Ever thought about making a casting of the belt and pulleys arrangement from the Street Machine version of the same AMT '71 Duster ??? If you ever do , mark me down on your list , for a few sets of 'em !
kylexgore Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) Hey Davin, could you give a little more insight on how you made the intake? I have been looking for an intake similar to this one for my '68 Dart and I lack the skills to make something like that. Overall it looks killer man. Edited November 26, 2012 by kylexgore

If you ever do , mark me down on your list , for a few sets of 'em ! thanks man , the headers are underchassis , i made them as close to a set of hookers . an yes the center steering link goes threw 3 of the tubes on the drivers side an hang down like the real ones .. an i dont have that belt set anymore.. sry
diymirage Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 im pretty sure i got the belt set, if you want to cast it that is from the 340 with the shortened viper style intake right? and are you selling the rims or are they just for private use ?
mopar01lee Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) ok as evryone kws no kit comes with a set of sb headers for an a body .. so i love headers , i dont care for manifolds, well it took me a few hrs of tweeking an bending but i made a set of 340 a body hooker headers .. now only if i can fig out how to mold them.. under chassis shot the center link goes threw the d/s header .. an a shot in the car w/my intake /carb an valve covers.. 69 charger 440 headers comin shortly...made after tti headers. Bad Apple Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 What did you make the headers out of? They look really good, i have Hooker Super Comps. on my 1:1 Duster and yours are very similar to them! Even the tube on the driver side that goes right across the spark plugs and makes them a real joy to change!
mopar01lee Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 i kw what you mean . had a 70 duster an it was a pain to get to that plug . as well tryin to change the stater . unless you got the light waight mini starter.. thanks i studied about 5 diff pics to try to get them as close as i could.. later days Davin
1972coronet Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 It's all about the scorched paint on the left (passenger side) shear panel (inner fenderwell) of the big block A bodies !
cnaind Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Very Nice Davin! I can almost smell the burning paint.
