topher5150 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I didn't feel like starting two threads, but seeing how they are both paint related I put them in one thread. First question is I have an older Sears 1/10 hp air compressor with no switch. Turning it on and off requires plugging and un-plugging the compressor. Is there something like a foot switch that I could connect between the air-compressor and the power source or do I have to go in there and hard wire it in? Second question: I found some Dupli-Color engine spray paint (gloss black, and primer grey) would using the primer be ok with other model paints?
Chief Joseph Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Harbor Freight sells a foot pedal switch that will work with your compressor. Actually, they used to sell two different switches: a normal on-off latching switch and a momentary switch that was only live when you put your foot on the pedal. I have a couple of the latching-type pedal switches and they work really well. I suppose you can use the engine primer, but it's usually thicker and more expensive that regular primer. If I had a choice between standard primer and engine primer for models, I'd always choose the standard.

I'm asking about the engine paint because I have a couple of cans laying around, and thought it wasteful to keep buying other paint if I could use that paint.
