Draggon Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Ive tried the Bamtam body and the Fiat on the fenders. The Fiat is OK, but the Bantam looks really wierd.
Erik Smith Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Either one of those would be very cool and an enthralling conversion. That Saints car looks horrible - even on the box. They couldn't even straighten the tired for the photo?
dodgefever Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 That's the best use for these things: turn it into something else. I had the coupe version and I remember my disappointment when I saw the body... i had the idea of using it for a comp coupe, but in the end I threw it away.
dodgefever Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) The weather has warmed up enough that I could spray some primer on the Ranchero. It wasn't as bad as it looked, so most of this filler will come off. I forgot to fill the old door lines, so I'll fix that on the next go round. Edited January 26, 2013 by dodgefever
wrecker388 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I made some progress today.I tubbed the frame, found my choice for the engine (it's from a Revell funny car glue bomb to keep the spirit of the CBP),found some torsion bars, cut a hole in the oil pan on the engine to clear the K-frame,and that's about all.
Kit Basher Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I like the second picture better, too. How about cutting the bottom off of the whole cab, and lower it down in the T-bird? I don't know if it would work, I'm just throwing out an idea.

rmvw guy Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Update on "MADMAN '55". I've been working on a roll cage and graphics. Thanks for looking. Edited March 23, 2013 by rmvw guy
Jantrix Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Working on the GTO chassis. It's been more of a challenge than anything else. Pics soon.
Jantrix Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Front and rear getting some love. Next up is to get my wheelbase and stance set.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) Hey rmvw guy, your primered '55 has about the worst (best?) case of badass I've ever seen. Love it. Edited February 2, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
Pat Minarick Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) I was able to get some picture of what I was starting with and a little work done . Just been to busy ! and this is the idea I have for it . So far I've flared out the fenders front and rear and it will have a tilt front end . Edited February 2, 2013 by Road Runner 79
W-409 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 A little update on my '86 Camino, after sanding, sanding and sanding I decided to try how it looks in color. It's Maston spray paint and the paint job turned out Okay. I'm going to do light wetsand and then it will look better. Clearcoat still to come, too. Also I've made some rough sanding with the chassis, more of it coming later...
rmvw guy Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) Hey rmvw guy, your primered '55 has about the worst (best?) case of badass I've ever seen. Love it. Thanks Ace Garage Guy, It means a lot coming from you. Your Deuce is one of the most killer ones I've seen. Still working on the tube frame and having fun with it. Plan on doing the rear also. The idea now seems to be just having '55 sheet metal which is slowly getting cut away. The engine is a 350 Chevy out of the Monogram '37 Ford kit. I wanted to keep it 1/24 scale and mated it with the transmission from the '55 kit. I then realized the kit engine is a SBC, even though the "Bad Man " kit calls it a 396. Oh well, the new one has better detail. Edited March 23, 2013 by rmvw guy
Nick Winter Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Still waiting on my parts, hoping they show up soon, I need a part from my order so I can finish a build for a show in March. Nick
64SS350 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Here'e some progress, roll cage done and first coat of primer..
Erik Smith Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) Moving along... Basic interior shaped in and power almost complete. I have gone through two headers so far - no luck. Going to try a dragster style exiting the wheel well next. Edited February 5, 2013 by Erik Smith
A.R.C. Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Wow you guys are really getting on it! Theres some cool stuff taking shape. I`ve got mine all planned out, now I just have to open the box.

Going to try a dragster style exiting the wheel well next. I like the way you handled your interior using flat panels, it makes sense. Those headers look killer, what kit did you source them from? I love the bluing effect. Nice progress!
blazefox Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Here'e some progress, roll cage done and first coat of primer.. could it be the i roc drag car kit. i found one in my dads old stash he gave me along with the 56 flip nose and a twin turboed camero and the truely awefull revell 55 chev revel gasser
64SS350 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 The chassis came loose from some kits I bought, it is identical to the STP Pro Stock car, except had provisions for two seats. Everything got shaved to fit the Vega body.
