Guest Davkin Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I started this just a week ago, display base and all; This is a quickie project as it has to be ready for a local IPMS show in less than two weeks. For now I'm just building the car curbside, I may finish it later. All I did was smooth out the already pretty darn clean lines on the '66 Riviera. I painted it with Testors laquer Honduras Marroon and Ultra Glosscote, it still needs to be polished. The display base is just vacuuformed Plastruct texture sheets glued to 1/4" styrene and then painted. I'd really like to see more model car builders put creative display bases under their models. A plus to this design is with the short back wall it allows show spectators to take much cleaner photos. The display base isn't quite finished in that photo but it is now. David
Captain Obvious Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Love the color, I need to grab a can of that! The display base rocks too!
