This is a "quickie job" I started last week. That's when I got the idea of actually doing something with the wrecked paint removal project..... See, it was decided in our slot club to start a Cobra class, using Kyosho Mini Z bodies. Cool! One of the guys made a deal with a LHS so we could buy the "display cars" They have a very simple chassis. The cars come in silver or blue, and I wanted the blue one, but they were all gone. Ok so I'll get a silver, strip the paint and repaint it orange or red..... So off came the chrome parts, and into the brake fluid/alcohol mix it went. I checked on it, and sure enough, the paint started to bubble. After an hour or so, I picked it up. Disaster!! The plastic was all soft and weird! This type of plastic doesn't like my special "brew" So I had to buy a new car, and this time I got the blue one.....

What to do with the wrecked body? Last week I got the crazy idea of turning it into a "resto object". So I went to work using the Rust-All kit I bought years ago. Seems the fluid evaporates from the jars, so don't let it sit too long! Maybe I went overboard, since these cars had aluminum bodies.......? What do you guys think? It's not finished yet, still have to add the dead flat and dust coatings.
