Guest Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Saw this in the March issue of Reminisce Extra. It's a 1955Chevrolet Barnette Ambulance, based on a Series 150 Sedan. http://www.mynetimages.com'>
Greg Myers Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Very nice, and back on topic.I always wonder how they do it to the full size cars.
Guest Johnny Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 National Body Mfg. Co. of Knightstown Indiana probably built the 55 Chevy. It would have been based on a sedan delivery chassis. They started building airport cars with up to 8 doors in 1955 using the new 55 Chevyl.
Edsel-Dan Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I would love to do that Ambulance. And the 57 Stretch, and maybe even the 55 Airport Limo. But................... I would want Measured drawings. Especially for the Ambulance!
Custom Hearse Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Thanks for posting those pics Greg! Those are cool!
pharoah Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 A friend of mine worked at National Body in the 60's when he got out of high school. He said it was amazing to see them take a brand new Cadillac, rip the interior out,and cut it in half!
