topher5150 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 So I repainted the car after this pic and got it all done and shot it with some clear coat and it kind of killed the blingieness now it's more of a silver color I used bare metal foil for the dash and the door panels .....and on the undercarriage for the gas tank and the heat shields on the exhaust
surfjunke Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Very cool Mustang. Nice finish & detail paint. All chrome/metalizer paints turn to silver after a clear coat is applied. Alclad II is one of the most durable metal finishes.

I had to touch it up a couple of times on the doors and rocker panels where my hands where grabbing it.
krazyglu Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 You didn't do a thing wrong, I had the same problem when handling part's painted with Alclad. They make there own clear coat which I assume keep's the bling and protect's the chrome finish from being rubbed off.
