Well its Done, A Jimmy Flintstone Superior Cadillac Ambulance Body on a Polar Lights Ecto 1 Kit. The resin body was very nice with a little cleanup and fit testing. I painted it Krylon Sweet Cream over Krylon Banner Red. The trim is BMF and the Interior was done Two tone red and black. The windows are The Kits windshield with Vacuumed Formed Plastic rear windows (from the JF Body) and Clear plastic for the side windows. The Emergency Lights are as follows. Superior Bullet lights made by me.. Beacon Ray #17 Made from the AMT ALF Base and the dome from the 1975 Blazer snap kit. The Spot lights are from a Custom 1960's model kit and the the mirrors on the back. and the Q Siren and Fender light is from the Revell of Germany Peterbuilt Pumper.

Any comments are welcome. PS I hope there not a limit on pics

Beautiful replica, Chris - definitely captures the essence of the "Wurlitzer on Wheels"!! This has to be the nicest interpretation of the Flinstone body I have seen.

Really nice job, Chris!

I have just a bit of constructive criticism to offer ... as Harry mentioned regarding your other ambulance, it would really add to the realism of your model if you'd black-wash the grill. It's very easy to do; just thin some Testors Arcyl flat black paint, brush it on and let it flow into the recessed ares of the grill. Use a paper towel to carefully blot the paint away from the high spots until you get the look you want. You'll be amazed at the difference!

Also, painting the headlights silver, then coating them with a thin layer of either Testors Window Cement or 5-minute epoxy would improve their realism greatly.

Please don't take my comments the wrong way; as I said, I think you did an outstanding job on your model! I'm just trying to share with you a couple techniques you can use to make it (along with your future builds) look even better!

Wow. I've never been one to say much about emergency vehicles, but I really like this car. Cool body choice & color combo, and about 3 sheets of BMF. What's not to like.

Thanks Novadose. Yea Bare metal foil is one of my well used tools. There are some really nice classic ambulances out there. you should see some of the Pontiac's they had in the 60's
