crazyrichard Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 (edited) thnx !! i got way better pics now in daylight and some updates from todays work with a lot of patience i did the inside of the hood black and also the edge on the bottom .. the springs on the hinges will be done in chrome later on fitted the battery now the inside of the hood is black the vents in the front of the hood pop way more (depth) front window rubber black with the hood on , because the underside of the edges is painted black it now creates like a darker panelline without being able to see paint it looks black , i liked the effect myself now some black on the inside of the cab roof is needed and glasswork , got everything dryfitted and so far it really looked good .. not gonna show then its no supprise when i post the finished pics oh and a real wooden floor in the bed , but thats for last Edited April 8, 2013 by crazyrichard
crazyrichard Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 today i painted the rear window rubbers black and painted teh visible top part inside the cab all black made a bed floor from real wood with styrene strips in between , the idea was to make the strips chrome but i liked the matching white , also wanted to do 2 clear coat layers on the wood but now i like the contrast of the matte wood loose testfit glued in then made a bed cover and kept in inbetween the side edges this is why the cover is painted in copper metallic to match the roof and make the rear more one with the cab stylewise
tyrone Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Great job on this build Richard... you style of building/detailing is clean and neat.... good stuff...
crazyrichard Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 put in the rear window and small triangle side windows this morning ( 2 days off work ) sanded the bed floor the painted cover , going to do a design on that placed the front window , headlight glass and fitted the whole headlight and grill assembly
crazyrichard Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 well almost done , but still need to do details work 1. window wipers 2. doorhandles 3. make a exhaust system 3. small details in the bed , like toolbox or..... 4. make real nice endpics i actually never ever taped stuff or painted a real design , the bed cover was the perfect test part sprayed the bedcover and started assembly and soon it was sitting on its wheels undercarridge , all the work with painting the wheel well indised underside of cab and bed payed of , the chassi now really pops then i got a big smile , turned out my not well thought over design was actually really cool , just taped something without real thought .. i love how it ties in everything would be cool to get the copper ford on a trailer behind it !! and last clear coated the bed cover
tyrone Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 This was a very cool project to see unfold... I like the finished result... and I like your execution......Fabulous work..
Dr. Cranky Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Wow, sorry I'm jumping in this one a little late, but what a beautiful, classy looking truck. Great job on making it look contemporary. I would buy that truck today if I found it on a showroom floor. Great work.
crazyrichard Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 thnx guys !!! well its far from perfect there are enough flaws here and there paint wise , but in the end i'm happy with the result .. this one triggered something as well , def. will do more pick ups in the future .... loved this build now i have to finish the detail work ... the clear coat on the bed cover placed the kits brake servo , no lines included so i bend one from brass tube and painted it chrome window wiper partially painted chrome , the kit wipers didnt want to play ball so this wiper is from a jaguar xj 220 supercar lol coming together
Dr. Cranky Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Again, the style is classy and elegant. Great taste, buddy.
crazyrichard Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 thnx doc , much apriciated just took some outdoors pics , but the weather is lousy , grey skyes .. but this weekend we should expect sun and 19 degrees here in holland so hope to make some sunny outdoor pics then , the copper should really pop then and some indoor pics fitted the coolant hoses , need to paint them flat black now to make some cool taillights .... and then its close to be posted in under glass just recieved a revell shelby cobra 427 s/c kit and some nice wheels and tyres i traded for 2 jap kits .. and man that kit is sweet .. may well be the first ever kit i will build how they intended it paint wise i def will do something i like rather then period and race correct but man that kit is soo sweet , also includes a tonneau cover and low windscreen .. vintage racer style ....will let that one sit for a while want to really take my time on that one ..
Mooneyzs Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) This is a great build and I am digging it. Loving the paint job too. You did an awesome job on this. Edited April 12, 2013 by Mooneyzs

gautreau Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Great lookin build. I really like how you incorporated both colours in to the bed cover.
Eric N. Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 That 's very nice! The stance is spot on-dig the black wheels.
RocknRolla Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Looks great man,how did you get the front so low!
crazyrichard Posted April 17, 2013 Author Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) thnx ! , just got rid of the original mounts and made a new pin higher up didnt bother to change the whole chassis becuase thisa was already partially build when i got it .. so i just make higer mounted pins for the wheels it could sit way lower but then you would have to open op de part under the hood and make whole new wells Edited April 17, 2013 by crazyrichard

crazyrichard Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 thnx thnx , funny i just did some taillights and a rear bumper on this one today , i will post some pics later
PowerPlant Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 This is a mean looking truck Great wheel choice, but I also liked the big five spokes you had mocked up on page one... Which kit were those from? Makes me want to get the 65 Stepside and do something similar Enjoy the Cobra, BTW, it's a great kit also...
