Drag chute question

Does anybody know how to make those funny car drag chute cables? {not the release cables} Any information would be appreciated.

You can get silver cord at Hobby Lobby as well as a small eye bolt that I put into the differential cover.

I find that string works well, depends if you want modern or not because modern cars have a sleeve over the Stroud line from the connecting point until about 5 feet out from it to protect them.
