Sean W Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 (edited) This is from the Revell Germany kit of 1991. I have been packing it around forever. The body piece had a decent warp in it, most of which I removed with hot water treatment. There is still some warp there, but I think when I get the rest of the kit together it may straighten out. The overall quality of the kit is really poor, and it was molded in a softer version of styrene, or some other plastic. It is coming together though, and I think (hope) it will make a nice shelf model. I will paint it Boyd's Aluma Coupe pearl yellow. The windshield piece is broken in two right down the middle, so I will have to scratch something together for that. Keep tuned, it will be done soon hopefully. Edited April 19, 2013 by Sean W
hjracing Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 I remember some Zender works in the past, those are really beautifull pieces of art. I'll keep an eye on this build. Cool project!

heinz74 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 these were rare cars ,even over here..Volkswagen (Karmann)never really built a Corrado convertible.. so Zender cut the roof of a couple ,,but quality was...poor to say the least i see your kit has has something of the PG engine (G60) with it.. not really accurate in detail ,,,but hey who cares Corrado's were offered with a wide range of engines over here from a lame 115 hp 2.0 8v all the way up to the big 190 hp 2.9 VR6 and the 1.8 and 2.0 16v's ... based on the mk2 Golf (Rabbit) they make great donor vehicles ...for these like to see the finished kit though...
Sean W Posted April 21, 2013 Author Posted April 21, 2013 Hi Henry. It is really cool to chat with people from Europe who are more familiar with the real car. I just bought the kit because I thought it looked cool. Yes, the kit motor is the G60, according to the box art and the decals, I wouldn't know otherwise. Keep watching I will get her done asap. I hope to be going back to work very soon, and that will cut into my model building time but I would much rather be employed. Cheers
