danman6677 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) I just got my TA GTA in the mail and first thing was the rims and tires, I had an old Z06 kit and tried the rims but wasnt sure they would work well found a solution, the backs from the TA fit inside the Z06 rims perfectly. Now suggestions on keep them chrome or paint them, black or gunmetal. Edited May 9, 2013 by danman6677
om617 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Gunmetal on the spokes maby? I dont know, taste is very subjective.
gwolf Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Man, it's so good to see these old Made In USA kits being built. Also, it's great to see the 80's GM kits being put to good use. Too bad they never made kits for an 1985 Pontiac Sunbird or a 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier, they're two of my favorite GM's from back then.
sak Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 In my opinion, the original lace type wheel would lood best. But if those wheels are what you whant, then yes..painted center would look best. Its just me but big chrome wheels on cars with no chrome whatever just doesn't look right.
Blown03SVT Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 IMO I would knock the chrome shine down with semi gloss clear. C5 wheels are a popular swap on 1:1 3rd gen f-bodies, just as LT1 and LS1 swaps.
freakshow12 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 To keep the gold thing going on the GTA why not do gold spokes?
whale392 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Personal opinion here, but if you are going to run those backing plates in the wheels, dark spokes would completely vanish into it. Use a lighter color (such as a muted silver, like what has been mentioned, or the GTA Gold).
danman6677 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 Well I changed my mind and used the GTA wheels, just black washed them and detailed the center caps, good enough for me.
