FIREMODELMAN Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Here is a project that has been on the bench for about a month. Nothing special, just a simple OOB build with added emergency stuff. This is kit was given to me by a good friend because the one I had was missing the stock grill. I did drill out the 'chrome' headlights and add clear lenses. The light bar is from a YODEL model that I added more detail to. I did add different wheels and tires from another kit, so I guess it's not 100% OOB, but close. Thanks for looking, Dave.
Fabrux Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Wow, clear lenses really make that grille pop! Do you know what kit you grabbed the lenses from?

No sorry Chris, I don't know the kit they came from. 4 years ago I bought a HUGE bag of clear parts tree's from a guy at a model show for 5 bucks, I went through the whole bag and took out all the headlights and put them in a large plastic box, so when I need 2 or more, I have to dig for matching set's.
explorer2770 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Dave, This looks good. I love the detail that you added to the light bar. The van is nice and simple, but gets the job done. Are you going to use the custom grill for the other kit?

Probably, I was thinking along the lines of a Mother-Jugg's and Speed type ambulance , juice it up with some hot rod wheels, a wild paint scheme, I think it will work.
