GM never thought they would be worth the cost of reengineering the wagon portion of the car and scrapped the idea, only keeping the '78 and '79 concept cars. A custom body company in California bought the rights to make the wagon version of the TA in the early eighties and produced a few of them, but they were not that popular back then due to cost and waning popularity of station wagons (non-mainstream).
