I have always loved the grand national and a friend gave me one since he didn't want it anymore.

The body and hood in silver base, thinking about buying a cowl hood for this one.

The rear end with one of the rims on it, I had to modify the stubs on it to make the rims and tires fit.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but both times I built this kit the fit of the nose & tail bodywork was abysmal and required a massive amount of work to get a good join.

I also had to reinforce the rear internally with extra plastic strips.

What that means is that you may regret having painted that lovely silver paint before attaching those parts.

I was wondering the same as I thought only the GNX was a turbo. Now I gotta go look it up.......

OK, so I looked it up as I remebered that the GN was a turbo V6 but here's some of what I found on a google search:

The Grand National performance version of the Regal had already been available, but for that last year Buick upped the ante even further. With the help of McLaren Engines, the Grand National was transformed in the GNX, one of the quickest cars produced in North America in the 1980s.

The turbocharged V6 of the Grand National was completely reworked by McLaren Engines. The turbo and intercooler were both upgraded and the engine's computer was reprogrammed. The four speed automatic gearbox received its own oil cooler. These modifications resulted in a stunning performance increase, bringing the boxy Regal on par with contemporary sports cars. Like for the Grand National, the GNX's top speed was electronically limited to 200 km/h.

Outwardly the changes were a little more subtly, with the bright 'GNX' badge in the blackened out grille as the only obvious change. Other changes included a power bulge on the engine cover, vents behind the front wheel arches and wider fenders.

more boost on the turbo, bigger intercooler, bigger cam, factory ladder bar, basically everything was more decked out

Thanks for the lesson on the GNX I honestly didn't know that. I want to get a cowl induction hood for this but I also may stay with the stock hood, I'm also contemplating taking out one coil out of the coils to lower the car but then I don't know if my rims would tuck under, I already had to modify the frame because I clipped to much on the stubs from the rear axle still thinking more has to come off. Stay tuned more updates soon

I'm looking for someone to cut the doors open and the trunk, and build me a trunk floor and we can work something out for payment. Just give me a pm and we can talk about trade

Looking at this silver base coat, I'm starting to like it in this color so I'm going to leave it, just need to go buy some clear coat so I can clear it and then wait a few days to wet sand the body
