17jamato Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 how would i prepare a body for clear coat? I will be using rustoleum ultra cover paint and their crystal clear enamel.
High octane Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Prepare the body? I usually wait one day after the color coat, lightly run a tack rag over it, and then start mist coats of heated clear from a rattlecan with 20 minute intervals. after 2 mist coats I spray on one wet coat and let the paint "gas out" for a week or two before using polishing cloths to polish out the clear.

PappyD340 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I just use an old pot run me some hot tap water in it and set the can in the pot it won't take to long to warm it up. The clear flows alot better when it is warm, hope this helps!!
