shafer Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Another member of the board made up these resins for me using 1/43 scale starter petty kits as a template for the mold, he sent me this picture- The 4 dodge magnums and 4 chargers are mine. I recieved them this week and have started cleaning out the bodiesof flashing, as a mater of fact 1 charger is almost complete. This first series will include mcgriff charger04, mcmillian charger 04 and 2 43 chargers, the magnums will be a 43 , 2 42's with a flip flop paint scheme and a 44 arca valvoline magnum, I have incorperated a couple of changes and will post progress by the weekend, btw this is my first time working with resin, lots of sanding and washing. hope you enjoy this thread.

shafer Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 i have been working on a 43 magnum, this car so far is being done in scrap decals, the rocket red stripes were cut down from a 1998 slixx stp pontiac paint scheme sheet, stp is from the same sheet, the numbers 43 were an accident, these were misprints from some decals i created for another build, something told me not to toss them out, and i listened to my gut feeling, because they were perfect size for this car, i have the art to finish the car but that is on hold for the moment b/c I am out of ink and decal paper.
shafer Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 note that this magnum has the segmented opera windows,
shafer Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 this is the finished version of mcgriff's car
shafer Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) some updates to the series , what you will see is the 43 magnum almost complete, a number o4 charger wearing Joe Mikmillan's 1978 arca colors. This car is an experiment. if you noticed I did not want to mask that paint scheme on such small scale so using the mcgriff decals as a template, i traced the outlines on old card stock. then I cut the pattern into a template. by using them templates i drew the shapes unto white decal paper, then cut em out, they were then sprayed with the dayglow red and decal aheasive spray and clear coat were applied , i think this worked well enough to use on the petty chargers that will be completed soon.
