I picked up one of the 04 GTO kits from big lots for 5 bucks and i was just curious to see how well some of the parts will work in the 64 version. I did a test fit of the rims tires on the 64 drop top and they look good. I have decided to get another 04 kit and use as much of the 04 drivetrain in the 64. i am also gonna use the front and possibly the rear seats from it in the drop top too. i was thinking of painting the car in a 04 up factory color to finish it off. I will show some pictures of the test shots later for you guys. I have some other things on my plate, so i do not know when i will concentrate on it yet .

here is a minor update, i took some test shots of the newer car's stuff on or in the older car.

a nice clean stock 1964 GTO drop top

and here is the same car with a set of polished 17x8" wheels and tires from a 2004 GTO .

I will begin taking the car back apart enough to do a test fit of the LS2 from the 04 car in the 64 car's engine bay. pictures will be up as soon as i can .

i am gonna duplicate this color scheme using the combined 64/04 interior. is there a paint that will duplicate the red leather in that pic. i have seen the color up close it is very close to the color of red bricks. I am gonna paint the seats, parts of the door and side panels and the both the boot and the up top this color. any info would be most helpful.
