here will be my attempt at building a 84 gt anniversary convertible to go with my hardtop,

most mustang kits by revel and monogram are the larger 1/24 scale

this off revel convertible is 1/25 same as mpc mustangs

it looks to be the "concept" convertible from early 80's (82?) it has custom ground effects and front fascia

I will be swapping a lot of the body panels for the regular sheetmetal vs the weird off looking ground effects

could I just cut the roof off the gt hatch? probly so but that's too easy and the a pillars are very thin and already bent

so cutting out the engine bay of the revel body and swapping panels and body parts will be interesting

I think keith marks? makes replica decals so I can get a 2nd set and he also does mustang 2 decals for other projects I want to do......

think it was keith marks that makes muscle car decals?

swapped a lot of body panels out!

the hardtop hatch actually looks really cool with the old convertible custom front clip and ground effect valences (lower door jams)

Good start. I went to Florida a few years ago with my friend and we brought back 2 turbo 4 anny verts and a 5.0 5 speed anny solid roof. All from same collection. Low mileage mint cars all still on good original rubber that's how nice they are. The turbo verts are the rarest anny cars

thanks I got another factory sealed annivarsary kit but i don't want to open it just for the decals lol

i will have to contact keith marks his decals are probly better for the annivarsary cars rather than the kit provided decals

sounds like you got a "haul" of rare foxbodys hope you still have them!!

i'd like to find a "GT" turbo car those are rather Rare as well

Yes. He still has them and a nice 5.0 5 speed 84 lx convertible. I have the holy Grail Capri in my possession plus a couple other cool but not as uncommon capris

I don't know if its possible to "buy" an entire car (or whats left of it) from a junkyard, but i wish i had back in my 5.0 days there was a bubble back capri , i could have made a real nice foxbody from its remains

The cat in the photo by the way is "shadow" he supervises me alot

I was just looking at the pics again and you would have been better off using door bottoms from an svo. Anniversary cars have red svo rub strips and not the typical door trim

the svo rub strips are very similar to the 85/86 gt?? if so regardless anyways i do have svo kits a plenty so i should be able to easily swap some of those in, as far as the rest of the car i guess easiest way to fix would be to fill in the rub strips and smooth them out??

thank you for pointing that out guess that means mpc's accuracy of 1984 annivarsary cars were slightly off then

post-8987-0-55265300-1399520942_thumb.jp. See how it fits inside Same as svo. They only use the wide trim on front of front fenders and rear of quarters to blend in the bumpers. 3 of these small pieces per side

looks triangular in shape? i wonder if theres a triangle styrene that small that can fit into the kits door channel (it is pretty wide) on the model kit on the side doors....... Time to get creative for the name of mostly Accurate "accuracy" :P

Yeah it's kind of triangular. I'm sure you can pull it off! You do some nice work on the foxes

thank you very much try to be somewhat accurate without being too over the top

I am trying to gather the courage to tackle building the bubble back capris. They are my soft spot since I have 3 of them

if your capri's are v8's (which i'm assuming they are) i have spare "RS" looking front valences from the mpc mustang kits that glue up perfectly to the revell capri kits front ends to give that v8 "rs" look 5.0 look instead of the plain jane 2.3 turbo front also the 3 pc spoilers work well too on the revell kits from the mpc kits..... like someone mentioned to me on my capri post when i mentioned something about bubble back hatch about using glass from a tuner car like acura or something, vw beetle something with a curved rear glass..... carved to fit
