slusher
Wish my neighbor across rhe street would shut his tras lid. Every Tuesday they empty the garbage and he fills it up Tuesday evening with the garbage ?️ in the back of the truck. So the rest of the week all garbage goes in the back of the truck. The smell and flies are awful plus the two grown pit bulls using the front yard and cats ripping open the garbage in the truck "…

That Plasticated Guy
I work in retail. Last month our local police had to be called into the store I work at four times. I did see a couple of the moments when they had to be there. Now, I usually try to find humor in situations like this. And if anyone remembers the live-action series Cops knows the song Bad Boys by Inner Circle and the little saying at the end of the opening credits. So I downloaded videos of each, trimmed them, and converted them into audio. I now have some interesting ringtones as a reminder of these moments. ?
Ace-Garageguy
I'm irked by supposedly "intelligent" adults that entirely miss the point of a statement, either intentionally or not, mis-interpret what's said, or take words out of context to turn the statement on itself with strawmen that have no relation to the point of the original statement. It's not just poor reading comprehension either, as it seems to happen with spoken words as much as written. Then there's the mindless rebleaters who parrot the misinterpretation put forward by whatever group or individual they identify with, never bothering to search out what was ACTUALLY said, and fail to think for themselves what the statement really meant. These behaviors occur about every subject imaginable, and make one wonder sometimes "what's the point of trying to communicate truth at all?". Tom Geiger
Friends of our lived in a neighborhood for 20 years. Then a new family moved in next door. They built an open air covered hang out area complete with a big fireplace. All done with permits that didn’t notice or care that the chimney height was exactly the same as their second floor windows. The teens there had large loud parties nearly every night. They kept the home fire burning nonstop, burning wood, old pallets, green wood and garbage, which made black smoky fires. Which set off my friend’s smoke detectors constantly. My friend contacted the offender who brushed him off that his kids needed to have loud drunken fun and to keep his windows closed! He contacted the town who also refused to admit they gave a CO to this mess. My friend is much more timid than me, put his house up for sale and moved. Me? I would have started action against the town building dept for screwing up, and demanding that the chimney be extended high enough that any smoke went over houses. Then every night these kids had parties I’d have the cops there, checking IDs for underage drinking (these were all high school kids). End of story? The people he sold the house to are suing him for not disclosing the nuisance next door! Edited August 29 by Tom Geiger 2
Falcon Ranchero
Similar thing goin’ on with the neighbours at my grandma’s house. Definitely not as bad compared to your story, but usually they just blare music really loud pretty frequently throughout the day and apparently night. They have garbage littered around the side of their garage which is thankfully guarded by a row of tall pine trees on our side of the property. A little earlier in the month the police were there doing a full scale investigation as the people are part of some missing person conspiracy. Also there are like five cats that they just let run and so they were using the open shed as a litter box since the base is just gravel so I had to basically rebuild the shack with doors and now it is an impenetrable fortress. But still the music plays but it’s one of those gadgets with a loud bass, so from in her house it’s like a booming sound and gets annoying. My grandma doesn’t want to do anything because they actually saved her house from burning down last year. But that was the only good about them. This is occurring very sporadically and seems to be triggered by certain things. Caffeine is the main trigger, hot coffee and ice cold Coca-Cola. stavanzer
A First-World Irk..... I just opened a brand new can of VanCamp's Pork&Beans. There was a whole lot more fluid to drain off than there used to be. Second, they just did not taste the way they used to. Bland and Flavourless. They were always a bit bland, but they have gotten a lot worse since the last time I had some. Just sad. They are a Comfort Food from my youth, and finding them to be so tasteless and dull was saddening to me. I did not expect greatness, but to see the corners cut in production just bothers me. I know, Not something to really care about, but it shows how things are changing for the worst behind the scenes. They keep shaving a bit of spice here, adding more water there, and pretty soon the product is lousy....

Like you said, an occasional familiar comfort food from my youth. It had been going downhill for years, but last time I made a pot of it, it was so flavorless and bland and watery that I tossed it out...left it outside for whatever animal wanted it actually...and I NEVER waste food.
TonyK
Many, many years ago I realized Kraft Mac & Cheese gave me the runs. Took a few times to figure it out but either I changed or they changed something. Haven't had it since.

When I was a kid grandma would cut up Oscar Mayer hotdogs into them for beans and weenies! That was before Oscar Mayer ruined their dogs with the weird smoked flavour they now have. OldTrucker
What irked me, we live in a 50 up community. This morning looked out and the street is lined with blankets, lawn chairs and Canopy's even into the yard everywhere there is any shade. We are at the beginning end of the Labor Day parade and there is nowhere close to the street for the people that live here to watch the parade from!!! Mark
If there is one even slightly positive thing to say about prices rising on everything, it's this: the price gap between halfway decent quality food and absolute krap has narrowed considerably. I do try to avoid the cheap stuff, try to do my own cooking for lunches (usually the big meal of the day for me). I did spend a couple of hours yesterday on some Buffalo wing Mac and cheese that provided yesterday's dinner, and will also provide today's, as well as a half dozen or so lunches over the next few weeks. The narrowing price gap has affected dining out as well. I've been avoiding the fast food places in favor of a couple of local restaurants. Price difference is minimal (before the tip, at least). But if you become a regular, and leave a decent tip, every so often the waiter/waitress might "forget" to put the coffee on your tab. Friday afternoon's "soup and sandwich" special was cheaper than a burger and fries at the fast food joint. Same with beverages: for not much more than the watered down national brand beers, you can try something else, local if you've got that going in your area, that's a whole lot better. If I ever have any of the cheap stuff in the fridge anymore, it's usually set aside for when I'm doing the yard work. In short, we are pretty much where we are going to be...not famous, not multi-millionaires, and so on. May as well get whatever enjoyment we can, wherever we can find it. Life is short, don't drink cheap beer or eat cheap food. If something you like has changed for the worse (does it ever change for the better?) then find something else to like.

My mom was taken out by a nasty ulcer, so you better check that. Sometimes I hate technology. The MacBook has the finger ID function, because I've been camping, my fingerprint is messed up and now I have to hunt down the password for Fakebook, and if it wasn't for the email notifications I would not be here. We live next to our county's Historical Farm Museum, they use the grounds for many seasonal events such as 4th of July fireworks, civil war reenactments and the annual wine festival. Our street has a Cul-de-sac at the end which backs up to the Farm Museum property. In the past years it's always been a problem with event goers parking in our neighborhood and walking a short way to avoid the parking fees. When the events are over, the individuals would return to their vehicles sometimes leaving trash behind. Very irritating! The wine festival is always the worst. Bottles and food wrappers are littered along the paths throughout the neighborhood. I've even had to deal with a few drunk belligerent idiots over the years. The only real perk is we have a front row seat to see the firework shows. But as to your dilemma, the leave blower does wonders to rid of unwanted debris ?°° sprinkles work also.. ?

Falcon Ranchero
On Saturday we went up North the highway, where all the nice beaches are and stuff, and on roadside there’s so much trash littered from those who pull off the side to go to the beaches. Not really enforced and there’s really no reason to litter anyway. Just sad. ?
